At Rec, we believe AI should give sports and recreation teams more time for the work only people can do: building great programs, solving problems, and serving their communities. AI is built into Rec to take on repetitive work, make information easier to find, and help teams get more done. But using AI shouldn’t mean giving up control of your data or the decisions that matter.
Our approach to AI is simple: use AI where it genuinely makes recreation better, protect the information entrusted to us, and keep people in control.
We never use customer and resident data to train or fine-tune AI models, either for Rec or anyone else. We use customer data only to provide and improve the services we’ve agreed to provide. When we use data to improve the product or review quality, we take steps to anonymize personal information so individuals cannot be identified.
AI is here to help your team make better-informed decisions, not replace its judgment. Rec’s AI follows the same roles and permissions as the staff member using it, and people remain in control of the decisions that affect their communities and customers.
Rec works only with vetted AI providers under enterprise agreements that prohibit training on Rec customer data. We do not route customer or resident data through consumer or public AI services. We review AI providers and their data-handling practices before approving them for use within Rec.
AI can make mistakes. When AI takes or recommends an action that matters, we design our systems so teams understand what happened, review the result and step in when needed.
We use AI where it can genuinely remove friction, improve access, or give recreation professionals more time to serve their communities.

Access controls. Access is role-based, least-privilege, and auditable.
